NATURAL OR ENGINEERED STONE
Granite is an igneous rock formed from magma beneath the earths crust. It is composed primarily of quartz, feldspar and mica, making it one of the hardest materials on earth. The other minerals present in granite allow for its intense and dynamic variations in color and pattern.
Granite is resistant to scratches, stains, acid and heat making it an amazingly long lasting and durable product. It is available in a range of finishes, making it suitable for every kitchen and bathroom.
Quartzite is a metamorphic stone formed when quartz-rich sandstone has been exposed to high temperatures and pressures that effectively fuse the quartz grains together. The main component is quartz, one of the hardest minerals on earth. The varieties of colour arise from impurities mixed in during the formation process.
Quartzite is suitable for both indoor and outdoor projects. They offer the distinctive look of marble with the benefit of having the strength and resilience of granite, thereby making it an ideal kitchen bench-top material.
Marble is a sedimentary rock and is considered a soft stone made up mostly of calcite. The main feature of marble is the beautiful veining patterns and colours that can be used to create exquisite designs.
Marble is sensitive to acidic foods such as vinegar, lemon, tomatoes, wine, some cleaners, mildew removers and other materials commonly found in the kitchen or bathroom. These materials could damage marble and disturb or dull a polished finish.
Trendstone Quartz is created from up to 93% natural quartz, enhanced polymer resins and pigments. Quartz is one of the hardest minerals available, offering an amazingly durable product that is resistant to heat, stains, chips and scratches. Trendstone Quartz comes in a carefully selected variety of exciting colours, making it a stylish, timeless, practical and low-maintenance choice for your project.
Trendstone Quartz offers large slabs of 3200x1600mm. Other comparable quartz products are available in much smaller slabs that are only 3000x1400mm.The benefit of large slabs is minimizing unsightly joins in countertops and more economic cutting that is ultimately more affordable for the customer.
SELECTING YOUR STONE
Selecting stone for your project is like selecting art. Natural stone is dynamic and the patterns and colours are constantly evolving. Careful selection and consideration is of upmost importance as slabs are all individual.
Small samples or photographs should only be considered as an indication as they can never accurately represent the entire slab. We recommend that you always visit our showroom and warehouse where you can view full size slabs of over 100 varieties of Natural Stone and TrendStone™ Quartz.
SLAB SPECIFICATION AND PROCESS
When you find the perfect stone for your project, our staff will provide you with a form detailing all information required to specify your selected slab to your fabricator. Your stone fabricator will then provide you with a quote.
It is important that we are contacted as soon as possible after the acceptance of the quote, so we can reserve your products. Normally, your stone fabricator will contact us to issue a product order and we will reserve the stone.
